The Somerset Police Department says after processing evidence at the scene, it now has a few leads of who possibly broke into a local pharmacy and stole controlled prescription pills.

The incident happened at the Somerset Northside Pharmacy on West Main Street around 4 a.m. Monday morning.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office initially got the call that the facility had been broken into. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found the front door busted in and a large amount of blood. That’s when the police department was notified and took over the case.

Police Chief Jeremy VanDermark says about 800 painkillers, including hydrocodine and hydromorphine, were taken.

Crews did collect blood, broken glass, and a surveillance tape from the scene.

VanDermark says he believes his office is looking into at least two possible suspects, the one who break-in and a get-a-way driver.
