Up and coming might be the best way to describe the Zanesville Girls Basketball program, winning 32 of their 42 contests over the last two years with Howard Twiggs at the helm. But with Twiggs resignation came the need for a new Lady Devils coach. The new Girls Basketball Coach is Jessica Mckenzie. A standout athlete at Muskingum, earning All-Ohio Athletic Conference awards in Volleyball and Basketball, Mckenzie knows her way around the court. Along with the leading the Muskies in rebounding her senior year, Mckenzie has plenty to offer in her first head coaching gig at Zanesville following one year at Dover as an assistant. She also is a graduate of West Muskingum where she earned all state honors as a memeber of the Tornadoes. But that wasn’t the only hire for the Blue Devils today. The Blue and White have not had a wrestling program in over 20 years. Today the Blue Devils solved that problem hiring head Wrestling Coach Jeff Lawless. Lawless will build the program from the gournd up and they will kick off their first season in the up coming winter. (click the video link)
