The American Legion Color Guard hopes to put their old uniforms on the shelf after today’s fundraiser.

Legion post 29 in Zanesville held a poker run, steak fry, and Chinese auction to raise money for new uniforms.

"Every cent that we collect, except for the expenses we bought, but everything else will go to the post," says Larry Shanks, Post Commander.

Shanks says the the current uniforms seen a lot of use throughout the years. Buying new ones is not going to be cheap.

"The uniforms cost anything from, like I said, three to four hundred dollars, I understand, or maybe more, but they’re hoping to get enough money to buy six."

The most prized raffle-item perhaps was a 32" flat screen television.
