The Muskingum Valley Red Cross is trying something new this weekend.
It’s taking the National Chapter’s "Ride for the Red" and applying it locally. Bikers will start in Zanesville at one p.m. Saturday and take a four-hour ride through Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties.
"There’s nothing more scenic and more beautiful than the highways and by-ways of Southeastern Ohio. Most people that ride love those roads, " says Marlene Henderson of the Red Cross.
The Red Cross wants to make sure all the bikers get to and from Zanesville safely during the ride.
"We do have a chase vehicle that will be going behind them and making sure that everyone’s ok, " says Henderson.
Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Red Cross’ Disaster Relief Fund that is still in the red.
