One local group is hosting a free camp this weekend.

The camp is called Wheelin’ Sportsmen Fishing and Fun Day and it’s for people with special needs.

"It’s an opportunity to introduce them to an activity outdoors that maybe they never had done before," President of the Y-Bridge Long Beards Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation Dick Sorg said.

Sorg said they will have fishing, bb gun shooting, archery, crossbow shooting, and food. He said everything is handicap accessible. If you want to fish bring your own pole…the bait will be provided.

"It’s very rewarding. People that will stand up in the wheelchair and give you a hug and say thank you for a fun day, that’s reward enough," Sorg said.

The Fishing Fun Day is taking place at Luburgh Incorported on the East Pike.   It’s Saturday July 17th from 9:00am to 1:00pm. To register or to volunteer call 740-454-2027.
