Kids find the best ways to stay cool in the Summer months, but they do need some reminders.
At the Muskingum Family YMCA, the center of attraction is the pool, a good way to stay cool.
"Obviously when it’s this warm, people are looking for a way to cool off and we got several options. We’ve got our day campers here and one of the things we do to protect them is we try to get them inside especially when it’s warm like this and we spend a lot of time in the college in the air conditioning," says Craig Miracle, Executive Director of the Muskingum Family YMCA.
The Family Y also teaches youngsters the importance of keeping their bodies well-hydrated.
"We stress to the kids, makes sure you’re drinking plenty of water, not pop and different things, things that dehydrate you, but water which will hydrate you, we set out water coolers for them and encourage them to bring their water bottles every day," says Miracle.
During time in the sun, kids are encouraged to use plenty of sunscreen.
