I-70 Shut Down After Rollover

by Kelly Mills on July 23, 2010

Three people were taken to the hospital after a rollover accident on Interstate 70 Friday.

According to Trooper Todd Henry with the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, around 3:30 a Red Ford Ranger pick-up truck driven by 37-year-old Jennifer Burk of Chandlersville was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70 just past the Adamsville exit when it failed to notice traffic slowed for construction.

Burk swerved to avoid the traffic, went into the median, and overturned.

Henry says Burk and two juveniles were transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries.

Burk was cited for failure to assure clear distance ahead.

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were shut down for about 15 minutes as a result of the accident.
