Patriotic Tunes Flow from the Courthouse

In coordination with the city’s celebration, the Zanesville Memorial Concert Band entertained community members with music to go along with the holiday.

In front of the courthouse, the band played tunes that struck a note with many in the audience.

"We love to play on July Fourth, it gives us a chance to feature some of our patriotic music. We have a wonderful medley of all the Armed Forces songs that we play and have the veterans stand up in the audience," says Jeff Roquemore, artistic director of the Memorial Band.

The band also held a raffle that would allow a child from the audience to direct the final song. Roquemore says that the concert tied perfectly into today’s events.

"I’m just glad that we’re here on this great day in Zanesville, has been proclaimed, for a day anyway, capital again, and I’m glad to be a part of that," says Roquemore.

Zanesville Memorial Concert Band will be back at Zane Landing Park for their next concert on July 18th at 7p.m.
