Newark Police charge the man responsible for the death of a reported missing Dayton man.

Sergeant Scott Snow says that 45-year old Christopher Richards of Dayton was reported missing on June 27. He was last seen in Newark where he was doing work on several properties he owns.

Thursday July 1, after four days missing, his body was found by investigators under a tarp in the back yard of 49 Madison Avenue, a property that Richards owns. During the interview process, officers spoke with his son.

"During the interview of the victim’s son, Steven, who was already incarcerated in the licking county justice center on an unrelated telephone harassment charge, Stephen did admit to killing his father back on Friday [June 25]," says Sergeant Scott Snow of the Newark Police Department.

Sergeant snow says that an exact murder weapon has not been identified.

"Steven Richards did admit to [using] blunt forced trauma to his father," says Sergeant Snow.
