The Zanesville Police Department is investigating what’s it’s calling an unarmed robbery at Aldi’s on Maple Avenue.

It happened around 9:40 p.m. after the grocery store closed.

Sergeant Chris Phipps says when crews arrived at the scene, they found an employee tied up. He says the woman was not injured in the incident and seems to be doing all right.

The suspect is described as a 60-year-old black male with medium length hair. He was last seen wearing black apparel and a baseball cap.

ZPD’s K-9 unit was brought onto the scene to see if it could obtain a track of the suspect. Sergeant Phipps says he’s unsure of where the suspect fled to.
