West Nile Virus Found in Newark

Evidence of the West Nile Virus is turning up in Licking County.

The Licking County Health Department says after collecting traps of mosquitoes at several locations, it found mosquitoes that tested positive for the virus on Buckeye Avenue in Newark.

Health Commissioner Joe Ebel says his department already conducted a spray of the area both Wednesday and Thursday.

Licking County is the second county in Ohio to find the West Nile Virus in mosquitoes this year.
