Area teachers are raising their voices about what can be done to make advancements in education.

Ohio’s First Lady, Frances Strickland, held an open dialogue with them Wednesday afternoon at the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center.

"The Governor is really concerned that we connect education with the future. The future needs are going to be really calling on creativity and education a lot, " says Ms. Strickland.

Ms. Strickland says these area schools have so much to offer that other districts across the state can pick up on.

"They are integrating not only the things about what students need to learn, but they’re doing a lot about bringing the communities into the schools. They’re also looking at the non-academic things that matter to young people, " says Ms. Strickland.

Ms. Strickland says it’s important for districts to continue to broaden themselves, especially when it comes to incorporating technology and global issues into the classroom.
