School is back in session and safety is a top priority.

AAA Auto Club says that school zones can become congested with children and traffic, and it’s important to be cautious while driving.

"This time of year with all the traffic injuries and fatalities with children, it’s just very safe to be alert this time of year with the children either walking to school or driving to school," said Manger of AAA Zanesville, Rhonda Collins.

AAA says that children walking to school are especially vulnerable to passing vehicles.

"Obey all speed limits, and stop at all traffic intersections and stop signs, just make sure you stop and look both ways before you attempt to go through the stop sign," said Collins.

She also says that cell phones are the leading cause of distraction, which can potentially cause an accident.
COLLINS SAYS THAT CELL PHONES ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF DISTRACTION, WHICH CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.
