Public Officials say safety is a high priority at the Muskingum County Fair.
The Fair Board plans in advance all security provisions at the fair. Depending on the day, there can be between two and fifteen deputies on staff at a time.
"Just depends on what’s going on, through the day were a little lighter staff wise because we don’t have as much going on, then as the evening goes we have people coming in to work our Midway," said Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz.
Lutz says extra security will be required for the Lady Antebellum concert going on tomorrow night.
"Inside we’ve got people lined up to work the show to keep the spectators back, we have prepared for them to be able to get them into the fair and out of the fair," he said.
Not only do they patrol the fairgrounds, but they also take care of any problems going on in the parking lot. Lutz says they haven’t encountered any major issues.
