Heather Nowlin is attempting to reach out to Hardin’s mother, Kim Saunders.

Saunders says the defendant’s sister hand-delivered a letter that Nowlin had written from the Muskingum County Jail. It was dated on July 29th.

"She apologized and said she was sorry. Of course, she didn’t do it, and giving reasons for her actions. Blaming it basically all on Terrell," says Saunders.

In the letter, Heather states this incident was the "…biggest mistake of my life." She claims she "…wasn’t there when Tyler was killed." It later says she "..never wanted to do it. I swear. Terrell had put a gun to my head," and the letter says Terrell threatened to kill Heather.

Saunders says she doesn’t buy what Heather is saying nor does she think Heather is remorseful for what she has done, and although Heather has asked Saunders to write her back, she says she can’t bring herself to do it.

"I don’t have anything to say to her at this time. I’m still working through my emotions. So, I don’t want to write something I may regret saying later. Right now, at this point, I don’t see myself ever writing her, " says Saunders.

Saunders says she notified the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office about the letter and the entity is asking that she turn it over as evidence.
