A 9-year-old boy was taken by Med-Flight to Children’s Hospital in Columbus after being struck by a car Tuesday afternoon in Licking County.
It happened on Ohio 79 just north of Newark around 3:30. According to Trooper Wilson, with the Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol the boy was on the eastside of 79 attempting to cross to the westside when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
The vehicle’s driver 87-year-old Ruth Snoor of Utica told police the boy didn’t look in the vehicles direction when crossing the road.
The boy’s condition is unknown at this time.
Trooper Wilson says no one will be cited in the crash.
