A Nashport man is facing federal charges for allegedly attempting to engage in prostitution and sexual activity with a minor.

The US Attorney Northern District of Ohio Office says 25-year-old Jonathan Waltman was indicted by a federal grand jury. It says he attempted to bring an eight-year-old girl from Canada to Michigan between June 15th and July 25th. It further explains that Waltman intended to travel from Ohio to Michigan to have sex with this girl.

Attorney Michael Sullivan will be prosecuting this case. If convicted, Waltman’s sentence will be determined by Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

The Department of Homeland Security along with Immigration and Customs Enforcement led the investigation of this case.
