The Muskingum County Board of Elections is ready for the November General Election.

The board met Wednesday night to certify all of the petitions for the November ballot.

"We actually have nine tax levies, a lot of those are from the townships. And we also have six local options that will be placed on the ballet," said Director, Chris Hamill.

Some of the tax levies were for the renewal of streets, roads, bridges, and also for fire protection. Zanesville will have one initiative petition to have a 3% lodging tax.

"The city Auditor actually takes that in and that’s a lodging tax that will be collected from the local hotels and and collected for the city," said Hamill.

The board also received a letter announcing the withdraw of 94th District State Representative candidate, John Sam Ackers (D). The General Election will be held on November 2nd.
