Community day is coming up and the Muskingum Family Y wants you to run wild.

An event called Run Wild at the Y is more than just your traditional race.

"It’s going to have a trail run/obstacle/adventure for the adults 11 and older. For 10 and younger we’re going to have lots of other activities for them, including sack race, strong kids dash, egg run, balloon toss, etc. We’ve got activities for the family throughout the day," Craig Miracle Executive Director of Muskingum Family Y said.

It’s for all age groups. Miracle said that they wanted it to be an event for the entire family. He said the Y along with the Marines and National Coast guard want to get people active and encourage them to stay fit.

"We will do awards for 11 and up for the actual adventure/obstacle run. Then with the 10 and younger group we also have awards to present to them as they compete in the different activities," Miracle said.

The proceeds from the event to go providing financial assistance so every child can have the opportunity to participate in the Y programs. The event is free for members and just $2.50 for anyone else. It’s August 21st from 9a.m. to 5p.m.
