One local festival is flourishing despite the economic hardships.
The 42nd annual Salt Fork Arts and Crafts Festival had more than one hundred artists from various states come in for the weekend long event.
"They enjoying coming to the Cambridge city park, we have had many artists here with us, one as long as 41 out of 42 years and most of our artists average 12 to 28 years with us," said Festival Director, Lana Watkins.
Watkins says that the struggling economy has affected some of the artists, but not the festival itself.
"They’ve had to make some individual choices for themselves, but as far as the festival goers in general, we survived the 08′ and 09′ economy woes and things have looked up for us this year," she said.
On display were various mediums of art. Watkins says there are pieces that are affordable for everyone. They also had hands on activities available for the children.
