The circus is coming to town, but not the kind you might be thinking of.
The Y-City Barbershop Chorus held their annual concert at Secrest Auditorium Sunday afternoon. The chorus picks a new theme every year, and this year, they chose "The Circus Comes to Town".
"We try to pick songs that will be exciting, tell a story, and exemplify the four part Barbershop harmony," said Director Jeff Jewell of The Y-City Barbership Chorus.
More than 100 volunteers were involved in the production. Jewell had the opportunity to write original lyrics for one of the songs.
"I arranged Carl King March Barnum and Bailey favorite and since it was a band march, there were no words, so I had to write the words, and wrote it for four part voices in Barbershop style," said the director.
The Y-City Barbershop Chorus uses some of the money made from the performance to help send a few choir students from local high schools to Harmony Camp at The Ohio State University.
