Charges are filed in Muskingum County Court against a Conesville man, who was involved in an accident that took the life of a local man.
73-year-old George Holland is charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular manslaughter, and failing to stop at a stop sign-all of which are misdemeanor counts.
Holland is set to be arraigned in court on October 8th at 9 a.m.
The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Holland was attempting to cross State Route 16 from Bridge Street on July 1st, when he was struck by a motorcycle traveling west on State Route 16. The driver of the motorcycle, 48-year-old Russell Hammond of Coshocton died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Hammond’s wife, Audra, his seven-year-old daughter, and four-year-old son were taken to area hospitals, treated, and released. Holland was also injured in the incident and transported by Medflight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he was treated and released.
