Basket collecting is a long-standing tradition for many locals.
Longaberger celebrates Heritage Days, the two-day event was held at Longaberger Homestead. All kinds of activities were set-up for the public; there was also a wide array of baskets on display for purchase.
"I mean there’s tons of people here, lot’s of different items, people are coming in here for a while, going to Dresden for a while but sales have been good," said Basket Vendor Greg Burr.
Burr says basket sales tend to go up as the weather cools down.
"Fall is always our best time, I mean people travel during the fall, we’ve got a lot of different specials and sales that are offered in the fall before winter gets here," he said.
Silent auctions, door prizes and drawings were also held. A portion of the proceeds from the festival will benefit the Grandma Bonnie and Dave Longaberger charity funds.
