Labor Day marks the unofficial end to summer, which is also the closing date for local pools.

The Dresden Swim Center is reporting a very successful season.

"With all the hot weather, we’ve had some of the best water temperatures we’ve had all year. (The swimmers)…they like to get in from about 78 to 85 (degrees), " says Manager, Lindsay Conley.

Conley says great pool conditions and weather made for record-breaking attendance this summer, especially when compared to last year’s chilly summer. It was a boost the swim center needed financially.

"We don’t use any taxpayer money to run our pool. We’re self-sufficient as long as Longaberger allows us to rent their facility, " says Conley.

Conley says by the third week of July, attendance at the Swim Center surpassed last year’s overall total.
