Construction on a busy road in Muskingum County is over and it’s opening today. (Friday)
State Route 93 is now wider and has an extra turn lane so more trucks can enter the East Pointe Business Park.
"We actually had to take property from both sides of the street to add a turn lane for the trucks. That way we’re not impeding traffic going north or southbound on St.Rt. 93 and also make it safer," Muskingum County Engineer Doug Davis said.
It took 60 days for the $1,300,000 project, that was partly funded by stimulus money, to be completed.
The feds are involved, the state was involved, the local and county government, and this is really a good tribute to our community. We were able to partner and work together with the City of Zanesville, Muskingum County, the Zanesville Muskingum County Port Authority, the Transportation Improvement District Board and the Ohio Department of Transportation" Davis said.
Davis said we are ready to invite businesses into our community. We have the land and the infrastructure now.
"We’re very fortunate that we are able to have the industrial park off of a State Route which allows people to get to the job ready site and into the industrial park easier," Davis said.
