Zanesville Hydrant Flushing

The Zanesville Fire Department will be conducting its annual hydrant flushing, starting next Monday, September 20th.

Crews will start in the Putnam area and work their way around the city between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Hydrants will not be flushed though during the weekends. Deputy Chief, Craig Stemm, says people who live in the area where the hydrant flushing is occurring may get discolored water and reduced pressure.

Hydrant flushing is typically used to clean sediment out of hydrants and make sure they are operational for fires.
