When the weather gets cold, it’s a fall favorite that warms your tummy.
The 14th Annual Souper Bowl Benefit Luncheon was held Sunday afternoon at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors. The public was invited to indulge in a delicious lunch.
"It’s just wonderful to watch all the different people walk in with smiles on their faces and go out with smiles on their faces with full stomachs, but it’s really nice to have everyone come together for a common cause," says Co-Chair Marcy White.
White says the event started with two churches and now has 18 participating. The proceeds are evenly distributed to several local non-profit organizations.
"With all the job lay-offs and our economy the way it is, the six organizations, they do a variety, meet a variety of different needs in the community," said White.
She says she hoped the event would bring in about $10,000.
