Alcohol May Be Involved in Zanesville Accident

The Zanesville Police Department says alcohol may be a contributing factor in a single car accident that sent the driver to the hospital.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Moxahala Avenue and Elmore Street.

Sergeant Chris Phipps says the driver of the red Ford was traveling north in the 1000-block of Moxahala Avenue when he ran into the back of a green SUV that was parked. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on the sidewalk.

Phipps says the man did sustain some head wounds after striking the windshield. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Phipps says the driver will be cited with failure to control and other additional charges are possible, pending an investigation.
