You have the opportunity to get to know 17 of the candidates that will be on the November ballot.

Sunday, October 17, the American Association of University Women is holding a candidates’ forum that features the three candidates for Ohio’s 18th congressional district, both Muskingum County commissioners candidates and state-wide candidates. This year, political candidates representing various third parties will also be in attendance.

"I think the Green Party, the Conservative Party, Libertarian Party, we don’t usually have those folks," says forum coordinator, Helen Harper.

The forum will not be a debate, but will give each candidate three minutes to present their platform. The public will then have the opportunity to present candidates with written questions. Harper says it gives people a deeper look at who they are voting for.

"We just want people to know their candidates so they can be informed voters. I have a mantra that says that voting is our right, informed voting is our responsibility."

The candidates’ forum will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the John McIntire Library auditorium. The following candidates will be in attendance:
