Last-Minute Voter Registration

If you want to vote in the upcoming November Election and aren’t registered, there’s still time.

The Muskingum County Board of Elections will remain open until 9 Monday night for any last-minute sign-ups. People can also register at public libraries, public high schools, and bureau of motor vehicles locations.

"It would be easier for them to do it if they’re closer to that area instead of our downtown area, " says Executive Director, Chris Hamill.

Hamill says she’s expecting a 40% turnout next month with a higher number of people voting absentee than in years past.

Muskingum County resident Steve Jones is one of many registered voters and says voting gives people a voice.

"That’s what our forefathers fought for…to vote. Everybody should come out and vote. Doesn’t matter what side you’re on, " says Jones.

Jones says in the end, every vote counts. He says he’s really looking forward to choosing a candidate in the gubernatorial and Muskingum County commissioner races.
