Local country music artists are being acknowledged.

The 25th Annual Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame day was held at Roger’s Auction Barn in Adamsville. While deceased members were honored, seven new members were inducted this year.

The Hall of Fame president says these individuals must meet certain qualifications to become members, one is that the musician must have performed for over 15 years.

He says the country music his club enjoys is not the same as what is played on the radio today.

"It tells a story or you know, today I can’t make heads or tails of what they’re doing, but it’s fine for the people that like it," said president Gene Sharrer.

In addition to celebrating country music, the club holds dances, performances and monthly meetings.
