Buckeye fans are putting on their jerseys for a good cause.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Zanesville hosted a Buckeye pep rally for the big game against Michigan next week. It was held at the Eaglesticks Golf Club Friday night. The fundraiser benefits the mentoring programs offered by the organization.

"At Big Brothers Big Sisters there’s opportunities to volunteer in many ways, whether it’s organizing fund raising activities or being a big," said Co-chair Beth Chapman.

In addition to food, games and raffles, contests were also held for the best dressed fan and the best decorated table.

Chapman said she would encourage everyone to volunteer.

"Research really shows that Big Brothers Big Sisters makes a difference with these kids because a lot of the kids are at risk, so there’s a lot of success stories," she said.

She said they hope to raise $30,000 this year.
