Colony Square Mall Transformed for Holidays

Santa’s getting ready to come into town.

His seat may be empty, but he’ll be ready for all the girls and boys next Saturday when he makes his debut at the Colony Square Mall. The facility has transformed just in time for the holiday season. It’s taken the maintenance crew about 10 days to put everything together.

"I think the atmosphere is very important to help put folks in the mood. Between the music and the visuals, I think that plays a very important role in it," says Mall Marketing Director, Kevin Pinson.

Pinson says there’s been increased traffic at the mall, and it’s come earlier than in past years. The mall is trying to attract as many shoppers as it can. So it’s doing something new this year.

"Trying to get those first dollars. That’s a big shopping day to open at midnight Black Friday. That means you’ll get the shoppers first in the door," says Pinson.

Pinson says stores have the option of opening at midnight. It’s also having a special gift to say thank you to shoppers for their support. If you spend $100 between 6 a.m. and noon on Black Friday, you’ll get a free $10 mall gift card.
