Election Day Nears

The November midterm election is only hours away. The polls open early Tuesday morning.

The Muskingum County Board of Elections was busy distributing election materials to the county’s 85 precincts. Here are some things to remember when you head to the polls.

"The polls do open at 6:30 tomorrow [Tuesday] morning and they will close at 7:30 tomorrow night. When you do go to the polls you need to remember to bring some form of identification with you that needs to be your name and current address," says Chris Hamill, Director of the Muskingum County Board of Elections.

There are 54,000 registered voters in Muskingum County and out of them, Hamill predicts a fairly typical turnout.

"We’re predicting right around a 40% turnout so I think everybody’s going out to vote this election," says Hamill.

Hamill expects votes to be counted and election results to be in by 10 p.m. Tuesday night. WHIZ News will bring you results from our seven-county region all night long on TV, AM-1240 and 92.7 FM radio and www.whiznews.com.
