Muskingum County is welcoming hunters from all over.
With the start of deer gun season also comes tourism to Muskingum County which is widely known for its great hunting locations.
"When Fall comes we know what’s next, and when hunting season and so deer season is right up with that, packages are sold for the hunters coming into the area," said Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby.
This year’s deer-gun season is expected to draw about 420,000 hunters, including many from out of state.
"It’s a great great deer season for us, always fantastic for the area, restaurants, hotels, cabins, we do see a huge economic impact," said Ashby.
Officials say hunting is worth $859 million to Ohio’s economy.
