Last minute Thanksgiving shoppers spent time in grocery stores Wednesday.
Whether it was for a tub of whip cream or the full fixings for a holiday meal many people were out and about grabbing items for Thanksgiving.
"I put it off this year," exclaimed Margaret Guthrie. "I was too busy decorating for Christmas!"
And some were picking up food to take to family dinners.
"I had to buy the stuff to finish making pumpkin pies," explained shopper Kira Rose.
Shopper Bill Wilkins spoke of his holiday plans, "We’re going to her daughter’s tomorrow morning. Then I’ll go to my daughters Friday or Saturday."
But, unlike in year’s past some shoppers noticed that items seemed pricier this year.
"Everything," said Guthrie. "I was just thinking 80 cents on every item. That’s what it feels like when you’re going through the check out."
"Higher," said Jenny Porter. "You don’t even see the bargains on the turkeys like you did last year."
While the cost of some items may put a pinch on the wallet, most said Thanksgiving only comes once a year and it’s worth it to spend time with family.
