One accident turned into three Tuesday afternoon for the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol.
Troopers at the scene say a red Camero driven by Clinton Kirkbride of Roseville was headed westbound on Dillon Falls Road, when Kirkbride lost control and struck a fence.
Shortly thereafter a Toyota Rav also headed westbound on Dillon Falls Road went left of center, striking a Ford Fusion, sending the Fusion into the fence, and the Rav into the Camero. Then the final wreck occurred.
"The last crash that we had, it was a chain reaction type of crash. What happened was the driver came up over the knoll, tried to avoid the stopped traffic, and as he swerved he took out a fence and a tree "said Sgt. Jeremy Mendehall.
Mendenhall says situations like this make it tricky for troopers to patrol the roadways.
"We have a full shift, a supervisor and three troopers out covering two counties. When we have a situation like this it ties us all up."
As a result of the wreck, a section of Dillon Falls Road was shut down for about 20 minutes while crews cleared the scene.
One person was sent to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with non life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Multiple citations are pending as a result of the three wrecks.
