Several races in Perry County were decided Tuesday. Lonnie Wood Senior won the battle for county commissioner with a vote of 5,080 to B. Jane Van Horn’s 4,573.
Democrat Teresa Stevenson won the county auditor’s seat. She beat Republican Dick Bowman with 5,766 votes to 4.310.
A 2-mill-tax-levy for Fairview Assisted Living passed by almost 2,000 votes. A 1-mill-levy for Roseville Parks is barely defeated by a vote of 90 yes to 94 no. However, a 1.2-mill-levy for the Roseville Cemetery passed by around 25 votes.
Also, passed three levies in Shawnee, a cemetery levy, and 2-mill and 3-mill-current-expenses levies. A Somerset half-mill current-expenses-levy passed by a vote of 299 to 155. And current expense levies of 1 mill and 2.4 mills passed in Thornville.
In the race for the 91st District State Representative, Bill Hayes is the winner over Dan Dodd by about 600 votes.
