Local veterans are being honored.

The public was invited to attend the 2010 Muskingum County Veterans Hall of Fame induction that took place Thursday evening at the Secrest Auditorium here in Zanesville.

"We’re recognizing them basically for being a veteran that have served our country and served our community after they got out," said President of the Muskingum County Veterans Council Bud Johnson.

The Veterans Council selected four new members: P.J. Longstreth, Nelson McCoy, Larry Nolan, and Jack Wagstaff. Each of these men have been members of the United States military and are active members of the community. Johnson asks that we thank all of those who have served and are currently serving.

"Just say thank you, that’s not tough, but in this day and age, not too many of us say thank you for anything."

Each member received a medal and certificate of appreciation. There were also performances by local singers and dancers.
