You can be the Santa who brings presents to underprivileged children this Christmas.
Through Childrens Services, community members are able to provide children in protective custody or foster care with gifts this holiday season. More than twenty volunteers gathered at Faith United Methodist Church Friday afternoon to help sort and wrap the presents. Chairman Amy Muchnok has been involves with the program for 15 years, and says bringing Christmas to children holds a special meaning.
"Each child can believe in Santa and the magic of Christmas, and you know they are going to be blessed with happiness." says Muchnok
The program will help more than 250 children this holiday season. Childrens Services will continue to receive names of children in need through all of December. If you aren’t able to go shopping for the child yourself, monetary donations are accepted. If you are interested in bringing Christmas to a child this year, you can contact Childrens Services at (740) 455-6710.
