One local church is hosting a Christmas luncheon Sunday, and you’re invited!

Grace United Methodist Church is opening their doors ,and welcoming anyone in the community to a free luncheon at noon on Sunday, December 26th. Debbie McLain says she doesn’t anyone to go hungry during the holidays, and says the luncheon wouldn’t be possible without the supports of the community and her congregation.

"I was handed money for potatoes, I was handed money for deserts. I had someone take charge of the deserts, and it’s most helpful because it’s not coming out of the outreach committee fund." says Mclain

The meal will include 13 turkeys, weighing in at over 80 lbs, as well as other traditional Christmas food. McLain says there is a special meaning to an event like this.

"It’s not just about presents, it’s not just about Christmas morning, and unfortunately it’s not just about Santa Claus, we need to do more." she says

The church is expecting to feed around 200 people Sunday. The church is located at 516 Shinnick Street in Zanesville. The luncheon will continue until all the food is gone.
