Gas Prices Keep Rising

The gas prices keep rising, and local residents have something to say about it.

Mark Seevers says he hopes the gas prices are rising because of the holidays, so after that they can drop.  For now, Seevers keeps his traveling down to a minimum; driving to and from work.

"It’s not very fun. driving an SUV, it’s about 60 to 70 dollars for me to fill up every time," said Seevers.

Local resident Mike Ungurean believes this is a case of supply and demand.  If you want gas, you will have to pay the price.  But he believes, once the price gets too high, people will quit buying as much fuel.

"They know they can get away with the high prices and people will still buy it. Once it goes up to 3.50 though, they will change their tune a little bit," said Ungurean.

Ohioans are paying nine cents more for gas this week after pricing broke through the three dollar barrier for the first time in more than two years.
