The Muskingum Valley Red Cross has a new leader at its helm.
Marlene Henderson officially took over the position Thursday and says she is ready to continue the mission of the Red Cross along with some of her own ideas.
"A lot of new fundraising ideas, able to recruit some new volunteers and some new donors and just really keeping the mission out," says Henderson.
Chapter chair Susan McCollister says she is confident Henderson will be able to handle the position because she is already one step ahead of the game.
"We named her as the Interim Director when Dan Hartman left so she’s been doing that for a little while."
Mccollister says more than 150 applicants applied for the position and took a very long time to narrow down the decision.
