Some community members are hoping to revitalize a historic building.
The 108-year-old Masonic Temple that’s home to the Free Masons of Zanesville, is hosting a holiday bazaar with 22 vendors of all kinds and also an open house.
"It’s one of the best kept secrets in Zanesville, it’s a beautiful old historic treasure and we have people here that will be giving building tours and we also feel that there is a need to bring more people into the building as tenants as crafters," said Site Manager Bob Grayson.
With the rich tradition and unique architechture, the Downtown Association is working to recruit new businesses and residents to the area.
"This is a vital building, the history of the building, the history of those who founded Free Masonry in this area significant, but more importantly the structure is an incredible structure and we would would like to see it filled up so the building is more viable," said President of the Downtown Association Dana Matz.
The Masonic Temple is located at 38 N. 4th Street and will take place on Friday from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
