Salvation Army Makes Distributing Items Quicker

The Salvation Army in Zanesville is changing the way it hands out its Christmas food and toy baskets. This year instead of one day, it will happen on two separate days.

The food-only distribution will take place Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon. Then, on Friday, the toy, clothes and food distribution will happen from 9 a.m. until 4p.m.

"They will be able to grab their food basket on Thursday and be able to go ahead and go and they won’t have to wait in line. And then also the parents will have more time on Friday to be able to go shopping and get stuff for their children," says Salvation Army Christmas Coordinator Joyce Krouskoupf.

Krouskoupf says it’s a blessing to see such generosity which help make sure no one goes hungry and that each child is able to have Christmas presents to open.

"When the people come in Friday, and you see them crying and so appreciative, it’s just all worth it, it’s all worth it. "

The Salvation Army still needs your help. They need donations of shoes and boots for all ages as well as canned fruit, dry spaghetti and cereals.
