Wade’s Clothing announced today that new local owners have come forward to continue the store’s 36-year-old history.
Wade’s Clothing founders Larry and Susan Wade had planned on retiring at the end of this month with the store having no choice but to close. New local co-owner Doug Pickrell says they wish the Wade’s all the best and are excited to keep the tradition going.
"We are excited that they are going to be able to spend more time with their families and we are excited to be able to take the store and rather see it close, bring our families in and continue a great tradition of fine quality apparel and jewelry," said Pickrell.
Larry Wade says he knows both new owners, Doug Pickrell and Jay Benson, are the perfect "fit" for Wade’s Clothing. Benson says the staff and brands will all stay the same at Wade’s Clothing…including the name.
"The attention to detail with this store, it has been a shopping destination for a lot of people. The attention to detail, the value, the fit, the quality, the comfort, they have all been a part of the Wade’s branding over the years so we are excited to continue that tradition," said Benson.
After making some renovations, Wade’s Clothing will re-open for business in late January.
