Zanesville City Schools Board of Education meeting was held Tuesday night.

Several topics were discussed, including updates on the construction of the north and south elementary schools and also the highschool. Architects presented a slideshow with projects that are currently being worked on: the completion of the highschool’s parking lot, electrical and mechanical work, and also finding a bid for playground equipment.

"I mean it’s progressing as it should be, it will slowly but surely, things will get done," said Treasurer Cindy Nye.

During the meeting it was announced that Treasurer Cindy Nye will be retiring after 30 years in public service, effective March 31st of 2011. Nye said her time has come to do other things, but she will greatly miss everyone.

"There’s so many fantastic people in this district, custodians, teachers, administrators and just a lot of great people."

A replacement for Nye has yet to be decided.
