Christ’s Table welcomes locals to bring in New Year’s with a hot meal.

Christ’s Table opens its doors to the public providing warm meals Monday through Saturday from 11 AM to 1 PM.

Sally Goins, a volunteer from Brighton Presbyterian Church, says their organization provides meals at Christ’s Table every first Saturday of the month.  Sandwiches, tomato soup, salad, and dessert were a few of the food items on today’s menu.

"I think its very important because we have folks who need a hot meal and we are able to provide that. We are also able to provide a friendly face and a nice place to come sit down and have a cup of coffee and get out of the weather when its like today," said Goins.

With the start of  a new year, Goins gives some advice to the less fortunate.

"I guess my word to them would be to have hope for the New Year and to trust that things will continue to get better if we all just work together," said Goins.
