As bone chilling temperatures blanket Southeast Ohio, the Salvation Army is offering their own blanket to those who need a warm place to stay.

The Salvation Army has seen a few families and individuals come in to the shelter as a result of the recent snow storm. But temperatures aren’t going up any time soon.

"I’m suprised we haven’t seen a few more over the last couple days but today the weather is really cold and its supposed to get even colder tonight so i suspect that we’re going to have a few people come in," says Case Manager Karen Walker.

If you or anyone you know needs a warm place to stay in these cold winter months, all you need to do is have a valid ID, pass a warrant check as well as a drug test.

"We are here and we are here for the public and our goal is to get the help to those who need it and it is terribly cold outside so we do have openings that we will welcome anybody in," adds Walker.

Walker says typically when temperatures dip to single digits, they see more traffic come through the shelter.
