If you think there is nothing exciting to do during the winter months right here in Muskingum County, think again.

Vice President of the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby offers suggestions for curing the winter time blues.  The Wilds offers Winter Safari Tours monthly where Ashby says you can enjoy both the animals and scenery.

"There’s also things you can do that are fun and creative like getting in the car and traveling along National Road 40 and hitting all the shops and restaurants," said Ashby.

If you are looking for an overnight getaway, Ashby says the local state parks offer cabins for inexpensive prices.  She says there is a benefit to staying close to home.

"It’s exploring your own backyard and it’s also just fun to see what we do here. It saves on gas, saves on time, and it’s just a great way to get out of your house for a few hours and explore in the area," said Ashby.
